Reflex Integration
I believe that incorporating the brain and body into therapy work can accelerate the healing process and aid in acheiving long term healing goals.
As a somatic practitioner, I incorporate the body through reflex intergration techniques from the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration Method (MNRI).
MNRI is a reflex integration method based on recent brain research demonstrating how stress and trauma activate automatic survival responses. I use the sensory-motor links of the reflex circuit in our bodies to teach the brain to transition to a “safe here and now” state, allowing for the return of resilience, optimism, confidence and health (Masgutova, 2013).
This method helps clients feel present, calm and ready to engage with the world around them and has proved effective in treating a wide range of challenges including post traumatic stress, chronic pain, attention difficulties, learning disorders, social-emotional challenges and more.
I incorporate reflex integration into my work when desired by the client. See below for a list of my completed courses from the Svetlana Masgutova Educational Institute.
